Meet our team.

Andi Ochoa, LMHC

Mental Health Counselor and Co-founder

As the co-founder of Land of Mañana Counseling LLC I am excited to provide you with a safe space where your mental health needs can be met. I love being a part of Land of Mañana Counseling because we foster an environment which best supports mental health care workers allowing us to provide the best care for you, our clients. I strongly believe in workers rights and fair pay and am excited to be apart of a agency that aligns with my values.

I am Chicana and I have lived in New Mexico my entire life. My family has deep roots throughout New Mexico and I am very passionate about healing the community that raised me as I have a deep love for New Mexico and all of our people.

I take a person-centered approach to counseling. For me this means that therapy begins by creating a safe space for all of my clients through empathy, and a relationship free of judgement. Additionally, I incorporate body-centered mindfulness, somatic interventions and CBT techniques within my counseling approach. I am trained in EMDR therapy and love using this modality with clients who struggle with trauma, anxiety or other maladaptive beliefs towards self and the world around us. I truly believe in a holistic approach to mental health care. I don't just see my clients as their diagnosis or their struggles but as a whole person with the ability to overcome their adverse life experiences. I also understand that therapy is not one size fits all what works for one client may not work for another. This is why I put the therapeutic relationship at the forefront of my work and approach treatment in a trauma informed, collaborative nature.

I primarily work with adults and adolescents. I have experience with complex trauma, postpartum depression and anxiety, depression, anxiety and difficult life transitions such as, parenting, divorce, new relationships, unexpected pregnancies and more.

I specialize in working with teen and young adult women who have experienced significant trauma within their lives.

I love to incorporate mindfulness and spirituality within my work when clients are open to it.

Joel Hernandez, LMHC

Mental Health Counselor and Co-founder

Co-founder of Land of Mañana Counseling LLC, I am passionate about mental health care as well as issues of equality and looking for the best in my clients.

Land of Mañana Counseling starts as a dream of reimagining mental health care as a career. We want to provide the fellow therapists positive space, financial support and shared ownership so we can ultimately provide higher quality of care to our clients.

I am Latino, born to immigrant parents and raised in New Mexico for the majority of my life. I have a passion for our city and for the working class. I love our food, our culture and our people. I recently graduated with my Masters in Counseling from the University of New Mexico where I also received my Bachelors in Psychology.

As a counselor I am focused and trained in Strength Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy and this starts with believing in and identifying your strengths as my client. Once we have taken the time to identify your strengths, we begin the work of cognitive restructuring and building from your strengths.

My client focus is primarily adults and couples, my experience is in addiction, anxiety, racial identity, self esteem, eating disorders, trauma, panic disorder and post traumatic stress disorder.

Elena Mitchel, LMHC

Mental Health Counselor and Co-Owner

Hi, my name is Elena and I am excited to be part of Land of Mañana because as a group we prioritize our values, emphasizing quality of client care and a fair and a nourishing work environment. I am passionate about connection as a healing path. Before becoming a counselor, I was focused on connection with the earth and plants as an herbalist and garden teacher. I see counseling as a continuation of this practice, where I can help others connect deeply to themselves and the world around them.

I see counseling as a collaborative process between client and counselor where I provide a supportive space for you to build awareness and explore your experience, relationships, emotions, how you got to be where you are now, and how to experiment with new ways of being. I practice using the modality of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a somatic, holistic method. I believe that people are made up of multiple parts and that inner wisdom and radical compassion exists within everyone. My vision is for counseling sessions to be a space where you can get to know the parts of yourself and access the inner calm, confidence, compassion and connectedness that can heal the whole. I believe that every person is a unique, whole, creative being with the capacity to heal themselves when given the opportunity and support. My mission is to help my clients live more peaceful, connected, vibrant, pleasure-full, and engaged lives.

I work individually with adults, specializing in working with women struggling with anxiety, depression, overwhelm, low self-esteem, guilt, anger, burn-out, and trauma. I also specialize in working with people in the helping professions, including therapists and medical professionals. I have experience working with PTSD, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disordered eating, ADHD/ADD, relationship difficulties, sexual identity, racial identity, and life transitions. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Hi, my name is Zhenya Novareign and I am delighted to be a part of the compassion team at Land of Mañana because I truly believe in the importance of therapy and community support while navigating the complex and rich labyrinth of life. I have been on a healing journey for most of my adult life, dedicating myself to many traditional healing arts such as therapeutic yoga, body based therapies, and using food as medicine. In my bodywork practice, I have specialized in working with folks around womb health, ancestral healing and sexual health. I am truly looking forward to drawing on my many years of experience in holistic health to support Land of Mañana clients as a community support worker, helping them to navigate the networks of support to bolster their process of healing, recovery, and return to wholeness.

In my experience, healing can never take place in isolation, and it is community models of healing and support that can help us all recover our deep sense of worth, self-love, and compassionate understanding. My goal is to truly listen and hold space for individuals to rediscover their strength and resilience, and to support them to draw upon available networks of support while making small steps that make a long lasting impact on their lives. When we plant a seed, it can be easy to overlook the tiny sprouts that come up from the ground, however with the proper attention, nurturing those tiny sprouts leads to so much abundance and beauty over time. Sometimes we need someone to help us see what is sprouting inside of ourselves, so that new ways of showing up in the world can develop and thrive.
